Cosy Up at The Garden House

Now that the nights are drawing in and the weather is definitely getting colder, it’s the perfect time to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax in a quaint Suffolk cottage. The Garden House in Hasketon is an ideal spot for a mini break or longer stay, with its tranquil countryside setting and roaring fire to keep you warm.

The wood burning stove keeps the open plan living room nice and toasty - just the ticket for spending a lazy day relaxing or warming up after you’ve been out soaking up the local sights. Imagine curling up of an evening on the sofa and listening to the crackling of burning wood. Decorated in a cool colour palette, this holiday cottage offers a relaxing atmosphere with all the facilities you might need. Bundle yourself up and sit on the verandah to watch birds in the garden and enjoy the sight of autumn turning the leaves from greens to rich oranges and reds. Play a spot on tennis on the court or go for a walk on one of the many fantastic country routes.

Pop to the nearby Turks Head of an evening for a glass of wine or a pint, or make a point of booking a reservation for lunch or dinner as the menu is mouth-wateringly divine. Also a short drive away is The Dog at Grundisburgh, a gastro pub which has a great menu of locally sourced food and real, local ales.

Only 4 miles from Woodbridge, a short drive brings you to the River Deben where you can spend a day strolling along the Sandlings Walk before a spot of shopping on the Thoroughfare. With several cafes, restaurants and pubs you can take of pick of where to eat out, and maybe catch a flick at The Riverside Theatre.

The Garden House is also ideally situated to get to Framlingham where you can visit the twelfth century castle, a number of independent shops and, of course, more eateries you simply must pay a visit to. East Coast Bakery should be on your list for places to stock up on scrumptious Suffolk goodies, as should Pump Street Bakery in Orford and The Food Hall in Snape Maltings. There are Farmers Markets in local villages as well, so if a stay at The Garden House coincides, these markets are brilliant opportunities to pick up some delicious local produce.
