This is Halloween: Events in Woodbridge

Wherever you’re staying in Suffolk this October Half Term, there are plenty of events to keep the kids (and the adults) entertained! From Horrible History walks to pumpkin picking, Visit Suffolk have rounded up the best of the bunch so you don’t have to. Prepare to get spooky!

Funny Bones

Where better to spend a Half Term with the kids than at Foxburrow Farm? The Suffolk Wildlife Trust nature reserve, home to owls, turtle doves, spotted flycatchers, skylarks and great crested newts, is a favourite amongst children both in the county and further afield. The “Funny Bones” event allows children to follow the adventures of the Funny Bones family, with skeleton crafts, bone trails and activities, providing both a fun and educational experience to remember.  

When? Tuesday the 25th of October 2016, 10:30am - 12:30pm.

Where? Foxburrow Farm, Melton, Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP12 1NA

Who? Suitable for all the family. The majority of activities are suitable for buggies, but if you have a child carrier that may be easier for you.

How much? Children - £4, Adults - £2. Children under 3 go free. Booking is essential.


Monsters of the Night

Foxburrow Farm are also hosting “Monsters of the Night,” a torch-lit trail for all the family, filled with spooky surprises! The event will also include a pumpkin hunt, campfire cooking, as well as other nighttime trails. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

When? Friday the 28th of October 2016, 4pm - 6pm.

Halloween 80's & 90's Disco

Ufford Park Hotel of Melton will be hosting a Halloween 80’s and 90’s Disco - come along and “paint the town dead,” with “ghouls that just want to have fun”! A DJ will be playing non-stop 80’s and 90’s hits throughout the night, so put on your scariest costume and head down for an evening of only the best party anthems. Fancy dress is optional, but as ever is much encouraged! You can even make an evening of it if you so wish, with a stay at the hotel at just £99 per Classic room, including a full English breakfast and access to the Health Club.

When? Friday the 28th of October 2016, 7:30pm - Midnight

Half Term Halloween Family Fun

There are plenty of ghoulish goings on at the Suffolk Punch Trust this Halloween half term! From the 24th-31st of October, the Trust will be taken over by ghosts, ghouls and goblins, with various games, events and activities for children. Activities include pumpkin decorating, haunted hunts and challenges around the site. Fancy dressed is encouraged, but not essential - either way, the week promises to be packed with ghoulish goings on!

When? Monday 24th - Monday 31st October 2016

Where? Sink Farm, St Davids Lane, Hollesley, Woodbridge IP12 3JR

Who? Perfect for children aged 3-13, but bring the whole family along for a fantastic trip out,

How much? Children aged 5-16 - £9, Children under 5 - £9, Family ticket (2 x adults, 3 x children) - £22, Concession - £7.50.


Visit the Dark, Dark Forest

Rendlesham Forest, location of the infamous UFO Incident of 1980, will play host to a special Halloween forest trail; what better time to discover the mystery and wonder of the forest than on All Hallows’ Eve? Experience a world where you can talk to owls, tune into bats and witness strange night time phenomena - don’t get too spooked!

When? Saturday 29th of October 2016, 8-10pm.

Where?  Rendlesham Forest, Rendlesham, Suffolk, IP12 3NF

Who? Children aged 8 and over and parents. Dogs are also allowed.

How much? £8 entry. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing - it will, after all, be a cold Autumn evening.


Myth & Magic Walk

Discover the Myth & Magic Walk at Sutton Hoo, and explore the history of the Anglo-Saxons to the royal burial mounds, where this world meets the next. See the royal landscape of the dead through the poetry, runes and riddles of Dark Age England, for whom any tree might be a shape-shifting god, a river-mist could conceal spirits - and perhaps even monsters. An event for all to enjoy and be inspired by!

When? Saturday 29th of October 2016, 4:30 - 5:45 pm.

Who? All are welcome!

How much? £5 entry for everyone.
