Rendlesham Forest is a 1500 hectare, mixed-woodland Forestry Commission Site.
As well as a picnic area, BBQs allowed, the forest is home to two circular walks - the easy-access blue trail, 1.2km/0.75 miles, and the longer red trail, 5km/3miles - taking you through plantations, heathland and wetlands and the UFO trail, guiding you to areas connected to the UFO sighting in December 1980.
Furthermore, the two cycle routes, of differing distance and difficulty, weave through the woodland. The bike park is a suitable place for experienced cyclists to develop their skills.
Bring your own bike, or hire one out with Suffolk Cycle Hire (a 10 minute cycle from the forest).
The play area, found near the car park, features a climbing wall, obstacle course, tube slide, swings, a zip-line and much more.
Rendlesham is home to two bird species, the Nightjar and Woodlark. For more information on birdwatching in Suffolk, see here.
Toilets are on site. Parking charges apply.
