What's available: fantastic bread that's baked from scratch everyday, a great variety of local and British vegetables, local beers and fine wines, home-baked cakes and biscuits, marinades, specialist oils and other gourmet goodies and a large selection of larder must-haves. The delicatessen is stuffed with a cheeses selected by Hamish Johnston, plus delicious antipasti, tarts, pies, quiches and a great choice of charcuterie: much of the cured meat comes from the butchery and is prepared on site.
The new Cookhouse restaurant is a great place to eat or have a drink whilst enjoying stunning views down the River Orwell - they really are out of this world even in moody weather. Again loads of local produce and seasonal recipes, it is the ideal place for a delicious freshly prepared lunch, a treat for the kids, a celebratory dinner, or a Sunday brunch.
