Suffolk Day is the annual celebration of our wonderful county. There are some great events being held across Suffolk, but here’s a quick guide to what’s on around Woodbridge:
The Longshed and Whisstocks Place Open Square
There are a number of great activities taking place down at Whisstocks, near the Tide Mill. Enjoy the Wooden Roots African drum band alongside other music, including sea shanties and folk songs.
Woodbridge Creative Arts with Anglo-Saxon reenactors will be showing the crafts and weapons of the time. Also experience storytelling for the young and not so young and come and chat to our friends from the Tide Mill.
Sae Wylfing, the Anglo-Saxon replica boat will also be on the Deben and dependant on conditions and the tide, trips may be available.
The Keo Street Burger van will there along with local cafe Coffeelink.
Martlesham Heath Control Tower Museum
A FREE 2 hour guided walk from 10:30 on Sunday 23rd June around the area and The Control Tower Museum will be open when you return. No need to book – just turn up wearing sensible shoes.
Food at the Froize
The Froize Freehouse Restaurant is putting on afternoon tea to celebrate the day plus a show from Kelly Bayfield as ‘Vocally Vintage’ along with the storytelling talents of husband Mat Bayfield will be taking us on a trip down memory lane in song and stories through those magical years when the ‘friendly’ invasion of US troops came to Suffolk.
